Port Haven Omegaverse

This is a list of world building elements inside the Port Haven Omegaverse.

Alphas - Alphas can be male or female. Their auras shift in their late teens. They can be possessive, aggressive and dominant. They tend to hold high places in society. They can manipulate their auras to dominate others, especially omegas. That effect can be temporary, however bad decisions can be forced when an alpha flexes their aura. That ability does not work well on betas. It does not work at all on Paragons.

Auras - Everyone is born with an aura, however, only alphas, and omegas have the ability to manipulate their own aura to certain degrees.

Auracle - An auracle is an omega born with the ability to see auras. Much like Synesthesia, auracles see auras differently. They are often employed as nurses and healers, as aura damage is dangerous.

Betas - Betas are the backbone of society. While they cannot manipulate their auras, they can be bitten into packs and feel an echo of the auras of alphas and omegas in the pack. Betas provide stability to packs. Since they cannot manipulate their auras, some believe that betas do not have auras. This is untrue. Betas are the majority of society. The birth of an alpha or omega is completely random despite old wives tales.

Disco - a street drug, much like Molly, that can give you a sexual high.

Paragon - A paragon is an omega whose aura is immune to influence by alphas. Because of this, they are often sought as and highly valued by elite packs. They work in entertainment, dating for dollars and The Paramore is their default Headquarters

Omegas - Omegas can be female or male. They "perfume", or their intoxicating scent presents in their late teens. They can scent match to individuals or packs.

Packs - Packs are formed either centered around an alpha who serves as pack lead, or an omega. Three people are necessary to form a pack. An omega pack can only be formed around one omega with two alphas. A bit is required to add people to a pack and consent is required (however, is is possible to coerce someone into consent). Pack bites form bonds between individual and the pack. Omega packs are rare because those bonds can never be broken. Only a pack lead can break pack bonds, but you can physically challenge your pack lead to take over leadership.

Dinghy Race Season - An annual summer tradition in Port Haven featuring boat races of all kinds. The city hosts various events that serve as networking, job fairs and matchmaking opportunities.

Scent Matches - once an omega perfumes, they can scent match to an individual or a pack. Scent matches are “fated mates” but you can reject your scent match. You only get one scent match, however, if you join a pack where a scent match bond already exists, you will be included in that scent match bond over time.
